Who is the traitor of Cambodia? Sam Rainsy or Hun Sen?
The border markers in Svay Rieng and other border markers along the border with Vietnam were planted in accordance with 2005 supplementary treaty which ceded our land to Vietnam. This treaty was extracted from 1985 illegal border treaty signed by Hun Sen under Vietnam’s occupation in 1980s. This treaty is contrary to 1991 Paris Peace Agreement and the article 55 of the Cambodian Constitution. Border treaties 1982, 1983 &1985 were signed by Hun Sen during Vietnam’s occupation in 1980s and those who opposed 2005 supplementary treaty were imprisoned and fled to Norway and Sweden.
It’s strange for Hun Sen’s government now because someone defending Cambodian territory is a traitor and someone ceding land to neighboring country is a patriot. However, the history of the next generation will provide justice for someone who defends Cambodian territories and someone who cedes our land to foreign country (Sam Rainsy and Hun Sen). I’m sure that the history of the next generation will list Hun Sen as a traitor of Cambodia who ceded Cambodia’s land to Vietnam and the independent court of the next generation will bring Hun Sen to justice.
Traitor is defined as “person who betrays his/her country” (Manser, 1991, p. 441). Therefore, Hun Sen is a Traitor of Cambodia who ceded our land to Vietnam and Sam Rainsy is a Patriot of Cambodia who defends Cambodian territories.
Cambodia must use the maps deposited at the UN by then-Prince Norodom Sihanouk in 1964.
