About Me

 

My name is Pang Sokheoun. I was born in 1976, Takeo province, in the southern of  Cambodia, the land of the birth of the Khmer Empire. 

I achieved my Philosophy Bachelor Degree in 2000 and continued my Master Degree in Public Affairs in the Philippines from 2001 to 2004. I came back to Cambodia in April, 2004 after my gratuation. Then I worked as the President of Students’ Movement for Democracy, the President of Youth Council of Cambodia, Lecturer of Philosophy for Cambodian Mekong University, and I also worked with some SRP congressmen, esp., H.E. Mao Munyvann.

 After I recieved the death threat from the anonymous criminal in September 2005 after I had planed to launch the campiagn against the price of the gasoline and the signing of the illegal supplemental treaty on 10 October 2005 by Hun Sen and Vietnam in order to validate and constitutionalize the 1985 illegal treaty, I fled and live in Sweden permanantly. 

Now I live in Ornskoldsvik municipalcity. I am studying Swedish and Polical Science (Samhällkunskap). During my school year, I also worked for the municipalcity. In 2006, I worked for Social Democratic Party (SDP) as an assistant to Lief Linholm, the President of SDP and the congressman working as President of Political Section in Ornskoldsvik Municipalcity and, in 2007, I worked for the Municipalcity Office with Leif Linholm again and as an assistant to Elvy Soderstrom, the Municipalcity Major .

Besides, I was also invited to be a speaker for some special occasions such on the Community Day, the United Nations Day, the International Labour Day, and the International Children Day! The topics that I often presented are the political situation, the human rights issues, and the educational system in Cambodia.

Presently, I am the Secretary General of SRP-Sweden and the member of Social Democratic Party in Örnsköldsvik Municipalcity.

I am happy to live in Sweden in term of  freedom, but the suffering in my heart affected by our beloved poor and suffering people and motherland can´t be cured.
