The Phnom Penh Post

James O’toole and Lim Phalla

The table below shows the contents of a document, signed by Prime Minister Hun Sen on February 22 and obtained by the Post, listing elements of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) that are to be grouped with government offices and private companies or individuals. Through the partnership, the listed companies and individuals are to provide charitable support to their designated military outfits.

Many companies and representatives from the private sector who are listed, however, have not yet confirmed their participation in the programme. Government officials say the arrangement will simply formalise long-standing donations from the private sector, providing soldiers with food, shelter and other necessities. Some observers warn, however, that the partnerships could lead to the military is being co-opted by private interests.

Hun Xen´s Preachment vs The Reality of His Wife and Daughters នេះជានាយករដ្ឋមន្រ្តីខ្មែរ

The Phnom Penh Post has published a very interesting article related to Hun Xen´s order to Ministry of Health to strickly monitor the use of toxic chemicals in cosmetics  during his speech at the closing ceremony of the Ministry´s annual conference.

[…] the premier said the number of beauty salons in the Kingdom has grown significantly, and that many women are probably using beauty products without knowing what chemicals they contain.

[…]
“They have to clearly inspect [the products] before using them in order to make sure that people who use makeup for beauty are not in danger of cancer,” Hun Sen said.

I just wonder when Hun Xen becomes the expert of the toxic chemicals and how he knows that those many women use the beauty products without knowing what the chemicals are.

Hun Sen also ordered health officials to penalise those who “cause damage to public health” by selling dangerous products or cosmetic services.

He concluded his remarks with a request that women shy away from the excessive use of cosmetics. “I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to all women – single, married or widowed. It’s better to keep your natural beauty,” he said.

It is amazing that Hun Xen admires the “Natural Beauty“, and I just think

Bun Samheang and Hun Mana (The "natural" look without toxic makeup, hair color and nail polish proposed by Hun Xen?)

that he may have suggested his wife and daughters already  to do so and I hope such an order won´t upset his wife – Bun Sam Heang, his daughters and many other Jumteavs either even though  they like  the makeup and have  always beautified themselves so that their social status becomes visible  in the society  as rich, socialized and aristocratic .

However, I think Hun Xen as the Prime Minster should stay focus on his roles and administration as the head of the government in  policy-making, law-enforcement,  good-governance, etc., and let  the Ministry and its departments deal with the issues concerned in their given responsible roles.

Lastly, I just want to say, may be most of  other Khmers also agree, that only Cambodian leader Hun Xen that always speeks rubbish without principle and guideline as the Prime Minister of a country.
