Three Banteay Meanchey districts devastated by floods
BANTEAY MEANCHEY (Cambodia Herald) – Deputy Governor Chhum Sovannarith says Ou Chrov, Malai and Mongkol Borei districts are seriously affected by flooding which has lasted two weeks.
Speaking on Thursday, he said six people had drowned while 6,340 households had been flooded.
The floods have also damaged 21,441 hectares of rice, 1,879 hectares of cassava, 118 schools and 3,000 meters of roads, he said
The deputy governor appealed to the European Union and other donors to offer food, shelter and latrines as well as health checks.
