Welcome to the Thai Administrative court Decision!

 

According to the Nation-Thai newspaper, published on Saturday, June 28, 2008 that the Administrative Court ordered Thai Government and Foreign Ministry on Saturday to suspend all moves concerning to the country’s support to Cambodia’s bid listing Preah Vihear temple as Unesco Heritage Site.

I personally would like to make remark on the decision of Thai Administrative Court in the spirit of protecting Cambodian territory according to: (1) our constitution,  (2) history, and (3) the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in Hague, 1962 that  I, as a Cambodian who love our nation as dearly as other Cambodians, strongly condemn the newly map drawn by the Cambodian government complied with the Thai new map proposed to Cambodia which is constitutionally contradicted to the verdict of the ICJ`s 1962 which included the overlapping area as Cambodian territory basing on the Siamese-Franco treaty 1904 and 1907. The adoption of the new drawn map proposed by the Thai government will disable Cambodia to legitimately claim for the area in the future.

The move of the Thai Administrative Court will keep the legitimate alternative for Cambodia to completely control on those territories as decided by ICJ 1962.

Constitutionally, Cambodia has the exclusive right to register Preah Vihear as World Heritage site and Thai must stop its dirty politics of interfering Cambodian sovereignty as it does today.

Thai must stop politicizing the Preah Vihear issue, recognize the history, and continue its respect for the spirit of ICJ, 1962.

If it is the border demarcation issue which leads the Thai people fear of losing its territorial integrity, then it should be diplomatically negotiated through the two countries` border committees and the Preah Vihear listing as World Heritage Site must not be interfered because it is absolutely Cambodian internal affairs.

Preah Vihear temple:

1. naturally belongs to Cambodia,
2. geographically belongs to Cambodia,
3. internationally and legally is recognized as Cambodian property,
4. archeologically belongs to Cambodia,
5. constructively was built by Cambodian great Kings Suryavarman I and Suryavarman II in the 11th and 12 century.
6. It historically was built when the Tai people (Thai today) were still in Nan Chao, southern of China.

So, there is no reason that the sacred Preah Vihear temple belongs to these people.

Thai people must stop claiming ignorantly over Preah Vihear temple.
