This Is the Characteristics of Most Khmer Leaders
េមដឹកនាំស្រុកយើងទទួល យកតែត្រូវទេ ពួកគេមិនចេះទ ទួលយក ខុសទេ៕
This is one of the reasons why our compatriots died in such large number without anybody accepting the fault committed, whereas there are only those who accept the right thing they did.
It is not easy to change our society when this kind of leaders is staying in the power. We will never hope them to take any responsibility for their responsible roles. These people accept only credit, and welcome only the flattering, sweet, and sycophantic words.
They in fact have grown up with their low and cheap social status with no or less dignity, low morality, and illiterate and low education backgrounds. And when they have risen to power by the political opportunity like that they will never give it up to others easily because they think it is their good deed from the past life.
These people characteristically have no sense of shame, conscience, respect, dignity, morality, justice, and nationalism. Frankly, they would not amount to anything if they were not installed to the power by Viets because they are just like any other ordinary Khmers and even worse because they are irresponsible, uneducated, criminal, and undignified. And the respect they have had until today is not the true respect the people given to them. It is the respect under the threat, violence, and killing. They know themselves clearly!

For Another Regime Change
Alternative Watch
By Ung Bun Ang
Prime minister Hun Sen is perpetuating an international strategy for a regime change that has time and again brought disasters to Cambodia. He has involved Cambodia in a push for a new government in Thailand. He declares the relations with Thailand will only be normalised if prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is voted out of office.
However, Hun Sen’s beneficiary, deposed Thai prime minister Thaksin may not be strong enough to regain power. Their footwork so far may look interesting, and make some Cambodians proud of their prime minister, but Thai opinion leaders believe the conflict has overall benefited the Abhisit government: its popularity has improved; Thaksin becomes a perfect decoy to divert attention from the government’s failure to revive the economy; and Thaksin can now be blamed for any economic fiasco.
Meanwhile, Thaksin has some serious personal problems. First, he may be burnt by the Dubai World financial mess that has recently flared up. Judging by his ego and eagerness to please the Dubai investment community and make his presence as a billionaire felt, his investments in real estate projects, financial, and debt instruments in Dubai must be sizeable. Thus, the Dubai trouble is likely to rattle Thaksin. And his other assets amounting to 76 billion bahts (US$2.28 billion) have been frozen by the Thai authority, waiting for a court verdict later this month that can remove his fortune forever. Khmer Krom´s Letter to Hun Sen on Nong Duc Manh´s Visit
Upon the visit of Nong Duc Manh to Phnom Penh, Khmer Krom Association has sent a letter to Hun Sen, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, to raise the Khmer Krom issues with the visiting communist Vietnam’s Secretary General Nong Duc Manh from Dec. 17 – 19 in Phnom Penh. The issues to be raised are:
- Land grabbing
- Khmer schools
- Khmer Theravada Buddhism
- Freedom of Assembly
- Forced assimilation of Khmer nationals as Vietnamese
Siam and Their Mental Problem: Abhishit´s Diplomatic Restoration and International Law
Bangkok (TNA)
The premier said that the issue should not be politically intensified as Mr Siwarak had pleaded not guilty during the trial and that Thailand had no need for the data as the government had it already.
“I want to ask persons who try to magnify the issue what do they need, why they want Thailand to have problems with its neighbour,” said Mr Abhisit. “Mr Siwarak has already been freed and the fact is there, but some people are still trying to politicise the issue“.
The Thai premier added that it is not difficult to restore relations with Cambodia as long as the neighbour listens to Thailand that the problem is caused by Mr Thaksin and solve it at its root.
Mr Abhisit reasserted that Thailand still wants to restore relations with Cambodia, but that relation must be made upon trust and respect between the two kingdoms.
The Thai premier admitted that there is sign from Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen urging Thailand to send its ambassador back to Phnom Penh, but Thailand has replied to the Cambodian premier that the diplomatic spat was not caused by recalling the ambassador.
He said Thailand was obliged to express its stance after Cambodia had insulted the Thai judicial process as well as violated international agreement.
SKE: Who else in Siam can push Siam to have problem with Cambodia if not you and PAD?
The problem will be restored if Cambodia listen to Siam? How about the problem to be restored if we Siam and Cambodia listen to each other and respect each other?
Should Camboddia act like Siam in order to be called as having trust and respect? If that is what Siam called it, then instead Cambodia should tighten her stance, commitment, and demand for siamese attention to and respecct for Cambodia from now on.
Cambodia insulted Siamese judicial process and violated the international agreement? Did Cambodia really insult Siamese judicial process or Did Cambodia civilizedly abide by the provision of the artice 3 of the extradition treaty? Doesn´t Abhishit think that to terminate the MoU unilaterally is a violation of the international treaty? Doesn´t he relealize that to use a unilateral map and disrepect the verdict of international court of Hague 1962 are a violation of the international laws and make his country looks uncivilized? Mr. Talk the talk and Mr. Perfect Arrogance!
“Debate-Conference on 7 January 1979”
The Cambodian oversea, esp., in France will hold a Debate- Conference in order to discuss, voice, and judge about the truth of 7 January 1979.
Historically and politically the idea of 7 January 1979 is very controversial. The first group, the Cambodian People´s Party (CPP), claims that it is the day to mark their victory over the Killing Field Regime and the day of Youn came to liberate Cambodians.
However, the democrats or other majority of Cambodians think that it is an invasion day of Youn and the contuation of Vietnamization.
When: Sunday 3 January 2010 at 2:00pm.
Now I will leave it to our beloved compatriots to judge your side.
Loggers Killed at Border: Police
By Khouth Sophakchakrya
Phnom Penh Post
… Now [the thai soldiers] are
shooting our people. it’s very cruel.
Phlok Lai was one of 10 men on the expedition, Trapaing Prasat district police chief Keo Tann said Thursday. A second man, Cheng Channy, 30, sustained serious injuries, and a third, Phal Sokha, 20, fled as the troops opened fire and is still missing in Thailand. The other seven men made it safely to Cambodia, Keo Tann said.
“The Thai officers at the border said they would find the missing man if we ordered people to refrain from going to Thailand to log illegally,” Keo Tann said.
Phlok Lai’s body was returned via the Chom border crossing on Thursday, and his family planned to hold a funeral service that afternoon. Phal Sokhorn, the son-in-law of Phlok Lai and the older brother of Phal Sokha, said he planned to cross the border into Thailand to look for his brother after his father-in-law’s body was cremated. Siwarak is Pardoned: Khiev Kanharith
According to DAP news which quoted Khiev Kanharith, the spokeman of Cambodian government, that the King has already signed the letter in order to pardon Siwarak after the King recieved a letter of request from Hun Sen.
He said that Siwarak will be released from Preysar prision on Monday where Hun Sen will present and hand over him to Chavalit and his group who will come to recieve Siwarak back home.
The report also added that Hun Sen will warmly welcome Siwarak if he wants to continues his work in Cambodia.
With this, I do feel disappointed with the act of Hun Sen and the Cambodian King who granted the pardon without conditionally thinking of our ntional interets.
However, I don´t blame the King but Hun Sen. Hun Sen always arbitarily does everything he wants without due respet to the constitution. I think the king grants the pardon under Hun Sen´s threat or demand. Or Siwarak must have served his 2/3 year term jail before his pardon granted according to the Cambodian Royal Pardon Order.
Politically, Hun Sen must do it in order to paint a good face for Phau Thai Party and his eternal friends´s relationship with Thaksin. Strategically, this allso gives anther slap on Abhisit´s face and his government and this surely will make the siamese people to distrust the siamese government under Abhisit`s leadership.
As predicted, everything will be done that way just for Hun Sen´s and his CPP´s interests on the expense of the Cambodian people.
