Kem Soka´s Impractical Condition
Some reports published that the opposition leader, MP Sam Rainsy, has made it clear that the name change condition proposed by Mr Kem Sokha, the leader of the Human party, for the two parties´ merger will not be applicable due to the unpredictable danger of the political and party coup e’tat orchestrated by the ruling Cambodian People’s Party. The reports can be read here, here, and here.
NOTE:
- Kem Sokha should understand that the name of Sam rainsy Party is not named without a reason. Historically, it is named after the Khmer Nation Party founded by Mr. Sam Rainsy in November 1995 was robbed away by Kong Mony in 1997 party coup d´eta, suspected to be aided and abetted by Hun Xen. Then the new established Sam Rainsy Party was named after Mr Sam Rainsy himself in order to avoid any future possible party coup d´eta.
- The political situation in Cambodia today cannot be trusted as along as Hun Xen still grips the power which in the reality there is no constitutional or legal power can guarantee any party from the so-called plot of party coup d´eta.
- If Kem Sokha does PRIORITIZE THE UNITY for the sake of the nation and the people of Cambodia, he must prioritize the danger issue to be plotted by the communist Hun Xen and the long term political strategy for the strength of the party to win the communist party rather than a name calling of the to-be-merged party.
- He should know how to give, but not only how to take in order to strengthen democrats and win over the communist Hun Xen.
- We also remember that Mr. Kem Soha rejected ( here) the request from rights groups to change his party´s name – Human Rights´ Party in June 2007 which claimed to be conflict with NGOs whose works focusing on Human Rights. We then just wonder why he chose such a name? So what is the reason for him to choose this name? Is it for strengthening democracy, or for the protection of the party coup d´eta, or for political exploitation?
- It also means that to change the name of SAM RAINSY PARTY in this political situation vying by the treacherous Cambodian People´s Party (CPP) is like to reward to the CPP to win indirectly the democrats. It politically means the change help abolish the SAM RAINSY PARTY for CPP.
Lastly, I hope that Mr Kem Sokha will give up this condition and the unity will be prevailed.
[Youn] Skin cream linked to bride’s death
Bangkok Post
Health officials backed up by paramilitary troops are searching people
entering Thailand from Cambodia for a Vietnamese-made skin whitening cream believed to contain dangerous chemicals.
A Cambodian bride-to-be died on Sunday in Sa Kaeo Crown Prince Hospital two days after being transferred unconscious and in a critical condition from a Poipet hospital.
Sovann Chuan, 23, the daughter of a senior police officer in Poipet in Cambodia’s Banteay Meanchey province, had used Bao Dam brand skin whitening cream and developed blood infections.
Bao Dam products have previously been banned from Thailand for reputedly containing high levels of hazardous mercury. Food and Drug Administration officials are testing the woman’s blood and the cream for traces of mercury.
Everyone entering Thailand from Cambodia through the Ban Khlong Luek border checkpoint in Sa Kaeo’s Aranyaprathet district is being thoroughly checked for Bao Dam products.
The Aranyaprathet Immigration office has been alerted to the problem and was cooperating in the screening for fear the cream could be smuggled in to sell at shops in Rong Kluea market.
Public Health Minister Jurin Laksanavisit said doctors advised Ms Chuan had died of a blood infection.
Ms Chuan bought the Bao Dam cream in a Poipet market and had rubbed it all over her body to whiten her skin in preparation for her wedding, her father Pol Capt Samuan Chuan said.
She developed severe allergic symptoms including peeling skin and chest discomfort and finally lost consciousness.
Pol Capt Chuan said he believed the cream caused his daughter’s death as it contained mercury.
The FDA said tests were still being carried out as to the exact cause of Ms Chuan’s death and it had yet to be proven the Bao Dam cream was the cause until the results of an autopsy are finalised.
Several other factors could have been involved, it said.
The provincial health office yesterday searched 42 cosmetics shops at Rong Kluea market for the Bao Dam cream.
Deputy health chief Yutthaphong Srimongkhon said vendors had taken the skin product off their shelves after learning from media reports about the death of the Cambodian woman. They had also removed other cosmetic products from Vietnam, Dr Yutthaphong said.
Bao Dam products had previously been tested and found to contain mercury and banned from sale in Thailand, the FDA said.
NOTE: The pro-Hun Xen Dap-News also published this news (here) but it doesn´t reveal the name of the product as the VIET PRODUCT-BAO DAM, like the Bangkok Post, in stead, it take the death of the young girl for granted by taking a chance to admire Hun Xen´s order on toxic cosmetic. With this, it politically means that Soy Sopheap is trying to conceal his master´s master´s poisonous product. On the other hand, such a publication of the DAP-news has no informative value for it give no clue/clear information to which products and from what countries are toxic. And our people will continue to be the victims.
